Which Hearing Aid Is Right For You?

The team at Pee Dee Hearing Center consists of a Doctor of Audiology and a Hearing Instrument Specialist, both of whom are experts in hearing technology. When deciding which hearing aid is right for each patient, we look at the degree of hearing loss (mild, moderate, moderately severe, severe or profound), lifestyle (how active you are), hearing goals, and budget.

The first step before determining which hearing aid is right for you is to have your hearing tested. Once we have the results of your audiogram, we can determine which device will better suit your needs. A conversation will also be had to discuss your lifestyle and how active you are. If you live an active lifestyle and spend your time in busier environments, then you will need a higher level of hearing technology.

Our hearing experts will help you determine which hearing aid is best for you. Contact our office to get started by scheduling a hearing check-up!

Hearing Aid Aftercare

When you receive hearing aids, that’s not the end of your journey. Pee Dee Hearing Center will continue to provide you with ongoing support and follow-up care to ensure your devices are serving you well. Remember, it may take your brain some time to relearn how to process the sounds you were missing.

Our team will work with you during this adjustment period to help you feel comfortable with your devices. We encourage you to wear your hearing aids during waking hours so your brain can readjust to hearing certain sounds again. If you find you are having trouble hearing in certain environments, please let us know so we can make any necessary adjustments to the programming.

Follow-up visits are a key part of success to hearing better with your new devices. After your initial fitting, we will have you come back into our office after a few weeks to check in to see how you are doing. After the adjustment period we recommend visiting our office for routine care and maintenance.
